How it all Began...

A year ago I was at my favorite quilt shop admiring all the colors on the bolts and the prints. I found a couple of jelly rolls to quilt for the Holidays but unfortunately the shop didn't have the print on a bolt for the back of the quilt. I came home and found the print I wanted on the Internet and in the process found the designer who designed the collection of fabric and her blog. I was inspired by reading her blog and I decided I wanted to be a fabric designer too.

  1. It's amazing how different experiences magically come together to form a new career sometimes. The moment when you came to the realization that "this is what I would be really good at, and would be passionate about" . . .

I also think that often women have more energy to put into a career after they've had children. Congratulations!

  2. Of course you would go and research how to do it yourself! You were the one that introduced me to the garment district, and my (and perhaps one of yours) favorite trimming shop.. on W39th. I really should memorize the name of the shop, I just recognize it by sight.

You were a huge inspiration to me to try the craft stuff in the city. I love mosaics and after you made that little bistro table for your deck, I went out and bought some tile, grout and even cutters for my little tiles. I was going to do something similar, just on a smaller scale.

Too bad my supplies still sit somewhere in a closet. All those good intentions... way to go.. and good luck!
